School Chaplaincy

The School Chaplaincy of the Diocese of Manicaland exists to nurture the spiritual, moral, and emotional development of students and staff across our diocesan schools. Grounded in Anglican tradition and the love of Christ, our chaplaincy team seeks to create inclusive, faith-filled environments where young people can explore questions of meaning, grow in character, and experience God’s presence in daily school life.

Our work spans devotional support, pastoral care, and values-based education. We lead assemblies and chapel services, facilitate small-group Bible studies, and offer one-on-one mentoring for students navigating academic pressures, personal challenges, or family changes. Through teacher workshops and staff retreats, we also equip educators with strategies to weave Christian principles into their classrooms and to care for the wellbeing of every child.

Beyond the school gates, our chaplaincy fosters community outreach and service learning. Students partner with local parishes on social-action projects—visiting elderly care homes, organizing food drives, and leading peer-support initiatives—to put their faith into practice and develop a heart for service. We believe that empowering young people to serve builds leadership skills, compassion, and a deeper sense of purpose.

We invite all headteachers, teachers, parents, and students of the Diocese of Manicaland’s schools to embrace the School Chaplaincy—where faith and learning meet, hearts are formed in Christ, and every member of the school community is supported to flourish.
